Norway’s coastal towns look out onto oceans that are seven times the size of the country itself. These cold, clear waters are the perfect for environment for fish, supporting many different species and nurturing them at the optimum temperature until they’re ready to be caught.
Being surrounded by Arctic waters has also led Norway to foster a deep respect for all that dwells there. Every Norwegian understands that we are incredibly fortunate to have inherited such a plentiful, natural larder right on our doorstep, and we know it is our duty to protect these rich stocks for future generations.
On this page you can discover more about the different species found in Norway’s cold, clear waters, including family favourites, cod, haddock and salmon.
